Venison Vetkoek Recipe

1kg Venison Mince meat

1 medium chopped onion

1 medium tomato

1 tin chopped tomatoes

50g Tomato paste.

2 tablespoon Curry powder(Raja Mild and Spicy – or Hotter if you prefer)

1tsp crushed Garlic

1 medium Potato chopped into cubes.

A pinch of egg yellow powder.

Handful of frozen Peas

Grated Cheese

Mrs. Balls original Chutney.

Put a little oil in a medium pot, heat.

Fry the Onions and Curry Powder until Onions are soft.

Add the Mince and fry until it is browned, add the Tomatoes and Potatoes, coat the Potatoes in the Egg Yellow before adding them to the pot.

Add the the Tomato Paste and Tinned Tomatoes, mix it all together.

Add Salt and Pepper to taste.

Cover the mixture with enough water and simmer until the Potatoes are soft and most of the water has evaporated.

Add a handful of Frozen Peas at the end, let them cook for 5min.

For the Vetkoek.

I buy a packet of pre-made dough, shape them into Vetkoek, fry until golden brown. Alternatively find a good recipe on Google and make your own.

Cut open the Vetkoek, spread Chutney on both sides, fill with Mince mixture add grated Cheese.
